The Színes Erzsébetváros team was founded in 2018 as a local patriotic community, with the aim of presenting the values and beauties of Erzsébetváros and solving the everyday problems of the people living in the district in the short and long term. As citizens, we work on local issues for a more cultured, greener and human-scale Erzsébetváros.
We believe that the ideal, lovable and sustainable city is within reach. We must respond to the challenges of climate change not with fear, but with courageous and decisive solutions to create an environment in which we will all enjoy living for decades to come.
Our work is inspired by the 15-minute city concept: creating an urban environment that reduces the ecological footprint while increasing the comfort of its residents. In neighborhoods optimized for walking and recreation, everyday services are accessible within 15 minutes, while increasing green spaces brings inner-city spaces closer to nature.
Our flagship project is the implementation of the “New Ring Road”, which would connect the 6th, 7th and 8th districts along Székely Mihály, Kazinczy and Szentkirályi streets. This route, designed for recreation and pedestrian traffic, would give new impetus to the district, while setting an example for the development of a sustainable, human-scale Budapest. With well-thought-out transportation and public space solutions, our beloved neighborhood can become even more livable and lovable.
