About the project

Pedestrian-friendly streets, airier spaces, cleaner air, walking, city experience: the pedestrian streets of Erzsébetváros are introduced!

Színes Erzsébetváros since 2018, he has been working to make Erzsébetváros a greener, more beloved, more walkable district. We also ran in the 2024 elections to for changes that had been could finally become a reality in District VII. We demonstrated and showed at street festivals how much better pedestrian-dominated streets work if there is no traffic conflict between pedestrians and cars. We also managed to get the people of Budapest to support us and our idea to win the Budapest community budget: there is finally a pedestrian crosswalk on Rákóczi Út at Kazinczy Utca.

2025 is the year of breakthroughs. We realized that good intentions must be collected, and nothing is impossible. We joined forces with Dávid Vitézy and the Podmaniczky Mozgalom to finally have pedestrian streets in Inner Erzsébetváros. Finally these streets can be the point where we meet and enjoy living in this uniquely beautiful city. In March, as a grassroots initiative, we approached the Budapest City Council as local citizens to start the development of pedestrian streets. In the Council, the initiative was prepared as part of the election program of our ally Dávid Vitézy and he fought for our now united joint commitment to the people of Budapest to be realized.

Here we are now: The long-awaited pedestrian street network is being established in Inner Erzsébetváros because the 7th district can now be a much more humane and better place.

We will be testing the changes for a TEST PERIOD until the end of the summer.
