for awarding jubilee honorary diplomas
The Mayor of the Erzsébetváros Local Government, District VII, Budapest on the basis of Local Government Decree 38/2021 (IX.15.), awards jubilee honorary diplomas to kindergarten teachers, primary school teachers and teachers who have a registered permanent or temporary address in the district, or who have worked professionally in the district for at least 20 years, and who obtained their teaching diploma 50, 60, 65, 70 or 75 years ago, i.e. in 1976, 1966, 1961, 1956 or or 1951 .
Deadline for applications for the honorary diploma::
March 10, 2026
Applications may be submitted in person or by post to the following address:
Culture and Education Department, Erzsébetváros Mayor’s Office, District VII, Budapest,1076 Budapest, Garay utca 5.
Documents required to apply for a jubilee honorary diploma:
For first applications if the applicant does not hold an honorary diploma of any grade:
– A completed application form (provided by the higher education institution where the diploma was obtained, or its legal successor; the form can be found on the website of the institution that issued the original diploma or its legal successor).
– Professional CVincluding the applicant’s address and phone number or other contact details.
– A copy of the original diploma.
– To prove at least 20 years in the teaching profession:
– if available, a photocopy of pages 1 and 9–12 of the employment record book,
– or another document proving 20 years in the teaching profession in the district (e.g. a certificate from a former employer).
If the applicant already holds an honorary diploma of any grade:
– A completed application form (provided by the higher education institution where the diploma was obtained, or its legal successor; the form can be found on the website of the institution that issued the original diploma or its legal successor).
– Professional CVincluding the applicant’s address and phone number or other contact details.
– A copy of the jubilee honorary diploma awarded.
Together with the honorary diploma, the Local Government also provides a financial award to the jubilee teacher.
Please note that the deadline is final; we cannot accept applications received after the deadline!
The Local Government forwards applications for honorary diplomas received on time to the competent higher education institution for assessment, so applicants do not need to submit them separately to that institution.
