Support for young people’s individual transport
Erzsébetváros Local Government, District VII, Budapest provides non-repayable support to young people with a registered permanent or temporary address in District VII who actually live in District VII, for buying a bicycle or scooter or for obtaining a category “B” driving license .
Who can apply for support?
You can apply for support if you have a registered permanent or temporary address in District VII and actually live in District VII, and you also meet one of the following conditions:
– at the time of application you are at least 16 and attend secondary school,
– you are a full-time student in a bachelor’s, master’s or higher vocational program and are under 25 at the time of application
– you are 25 or older but not yet 28 at the time of application and have been continuously enrolled as a student since coming of age. In this case support is granted on an individual basis, whereas in the first two cases it is automatic.
The support can be used only once per purpose.
If you are eligible for support, we will sign a contract with you or – if you are under 18 – with your legal guardian. When signing the contract, we will ask to see an ID card.
Support for buying a bicycle or scooter
For buying a bicycle we provide HUF 60,000, scooter we provide HUF 30,000 of support; if the item costs less than the support received, you must repay the unused amount by the time you submit your accounts.
With the support you can also buy a used item , provided an invoice can be issued for it, but electric devices may not be purchased with it.
You will receive the support after signing the contract and will have four months to buy the item. The final date for using the support (i.e. making the purchase) will be set in the support contract. Within 30 days after that, you must account for it by submitting the following documents:
– a certified copy of the invoice for the item, issued in the name of the person we sign the contract with
– a photo of the item
– a declaration that the item will remain your property for 2 years.
If you are under 18, these documents must be submitted to us by your parent or legal guardian.
If you sell or give away the item within two years of signing the support contract, you must notify the Local Government and repay the support. If you lose possession of the item in another way (e.g. it is stolen), please notify us as well, but you will not have to repay the support.
Support for obtaining a category “B” driving license
For obtaining a driving license HUF 60,000 we provide support retrospectively, after you have obtained the license. You can submit your application within 6 months of the license being issued.
If you start the driving course during your final year of secondary school, you are eligible for support if you are still attending secondary school (grade 12 or 13) when the course starts; you must prove this with a photo of your student ID when applying.

Your application must be submitted on Erzsébetváros’s e-Grant Management (e-Pályázatkezelő) platform , where you first need to register

When registering, enter your own details; if you are under 18, after logging in to your user account you also need to enter the details of a parent or legal guardian.
With the application you must upload a photo of both sides of your valid student ID and, if you are 25 or older, the documents proving your continuous student status.
If you are requesting support for a driving license, you must also upload the following documents:
– the agreement with the driving school
– the invoice for the course (at least up to the amount of the support)
– a photo of both sides of your driving license.
Application deadline
Your application between March 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 .
Procedural rules
Detailed rules on the support are set out in Local Government Decree 15/2022 (IV.13.) on individual transport support for young people in Erzsébetváros.
Applications are assessed in the order received until the funds available in the Local Government’s budget are exhausted.
Eligibility for support is determined by the Mayor; there is no appeal against the decision.
If your application is incomplete, you can correct it once, within 5 daysof our notification. Otherwise we cannot assess your application.
