The Council of the Local Government of Erzsébetváros, District VII, Budapest,
pursuant to Local Government Decree 37/2012. (IX.25.) on establishing Erzsébetváros local government awards and the rules for awarding them, invites nominations for the
“Erzsébetváros 56” award from
the district’s residents, the local government’s institutions and business entities, the educational, cultural and scientific institutions and civil society organizations operating in the district, and professional and heritage organizations
The “Erzsébetváros 56” award may be given to a person or organization from Erzsébetváros, or carrying out patriotic activity in Erzsébetváros, who contributed to winning Hungary’s independence during the 1956 revolution through patriotic steadfastness and exemplary activity serving Hungarian independence. The award may also be given to a person, civil society organization, professional organization or institution whose high-quality work helps the citizens of Erzsébetváros and future generations preserve and worthily cherish the memory and spirit of 1956.
Each year, the award may be given to three people and one civil society organization, professional organization or institution .
The award may also be given posthumously.
Nominations for the award, with detailed written professional justification, may be made by:
– the mayor;
– members of the Council,
– at least 50 Erzsébetváros citizens,
– the Local Government’s institutions and business entities,
– educational, cultural and scientific institutions operating in Erzsébetváros,
– civil society organizations, professional and heritage organizations.
Nominations must be submitted by August 15, 2026 – on the designated form – addressed to Mayor Péter Niedermüller, via the following contacts:
