By the 20th day of each month after the support starts being paid, the beneficiary must prove the use of the support by showing that the rent has been paid to the landlord, by presenting a bank statement showing the transfer, a confirmation of the transfer, or a receipt issued by the landlord confirming payment of the monthly rent.

To apply for rent support, the following must be submitted:

a) the lease agreement, drawn up as a public deed or a private deed witnessed by two witnesses, if a lease is in place;

b) a document proving ownership of the apartment (copy of the land registry sheet, sales contract);

c) the applicant’s declaration of consent that the Social and Health Department may also inform the landlord of the decision on granting the support.

Rent support cannot be granted if it cannot be credibly proven that the landlord – as the owner or usufructuary of the rented property – is entitled to rent out the property.
