Information on settling family legal status
When a child is registered at birth without the father’s data, the Notary of the local government informs the mother
a)how the family legal status can be settled in the child’s interest, and
b)that any guardianship office is competent to record an acknowledgment of paternity by a minor father, and that an acknowledgment of paternity can also be made before a registrar, a court or a notary public if there is a man who acknowledges the child as his own.
If the child’s family legal status is still unsettled at the age of one, the Notary of the local government contacts the mother again and informs her of the ways to settle it.
