Under Section 8 (2) d) of Act LXXIV of 2016 on the protection of the townscape, the local government may issue townscape enforcement orders and impose fines, excluding administrative fines related to the unlawful placement of advertising media and advertisements, and townscape fines.
The detailed rules are set out in the chapter “Townscape protection information and professional consultation” (Section 18/A) of Government Decree 314/2012 (XI. 8.) on the urban development concept, the integrated urban development strategy and urban planning instruments, and on certain special urban planning legal instruments, Section 43 of Government Decree 419/2021 (VII.15.) on certain special urban planning legal instruments, and Chapter IX “Townscape protection information and professional consultation” of the ETKR.
