The amount of support is <span><strong>HUF 100,000 per month<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Who can apply<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Students who meet all of the following conditions are eligible to apply:<\/p>\n<p>a)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; have had a registered permanent address in District VII, Budapest, <u>for at least 1 year<\/u> and actually live in District VII,<\/p>\n<p>b)&nbsp;&nbsp; are PhD, DLA or DBA students with a state scholarship at an accredited doctoral school in Hungary; or are within one year of the end of their state scholarship and have not yet had their public thesis defense.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Where to apply and what you need<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Your application <span><strong>must be submitted on Erzs\u00e9betv\u00e1ros\u2019s e-Grant Management (e-P\u00e1ly\u00e1zatkezel\u0151) platform<\/strong> <\/span>, where you first need to register \u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/palyazatkezelo.erzsebetvaros.hu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/palyazatkezelo.erzsebetvaros.hu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Applications can only be submitted after registration has been approved, and must be accompanied by<\/strong><\/span> a research plan prepared according to Annex<a href=\"https:\/\/szineserzsebetvaros.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/dokumentumtar\/2026\/phd-melleklet.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 <\/a>(<span><strong>(a title is also required<\/strong><\/span>), showing how the research topic relates to District VII, Budapest; a certificate of student status issued by the doctoral school not more than 30 days old; or, if the student requests support after the state scholarship has ended, the official document certifying acceptance of the dissertation and a certificate from the doctoral school on the end date of the state scholarship.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Application deadline<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Your application <span><strong>Applications can be submitted until March 1, 2026<\/strong><\/span>(Sunday); however, please <span><strong>complete your registration in the grant management<\/strong><\/span> system <span><strong>by February 24, 2026 at the latest<\/strong><\/span> , as approval of the registration takes 2-3 working days.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Procedural rules<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Detailed rules on the support are set out in Local Government Decree 3\/2025 (I. 22.) on support for Erzs\u00e9betv\u00e1ros PhD students with state scholarships.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the assessment of applications,<span><strong>missing items may be supplied once<\/strong><\/span> ; the request is sent electronically to the email address registered on the e-Grant Management platform, and missing items must be supplied within <span><strong>5 days<\/strong><\/span> of the electronic notification.<\/p>\n<p>Each semester, <span><strong>applications from up to 20 students<\/strong><\/span> can be approved, with the proviso that a student may receive support only once a year. Support is awarded on the proposal of a 5-member jury: 3 members of the Council, 1 civil servant of the Mayor\u2019s Office (the Notary or a person authorized by them), and 1 external expert with a PhD selected through a public call.<\/p>\n<p>Once eligibility is established, the support is paid monthly by the 15th of the month; for support under this call, the first payment is made by March 30.<\/p>\n<p>If the public thesis defense takes place during the period of support, the student is entitled to support only until the month of the defense.<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor determines eligibility for support and orders its payment. There is no appeal against the Mayor\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Obligations<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>By the last day of the month following the end of entitlement, the student <span><strong>must submit a professional report<\/strong> <\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>While the support is being paid, the student <span><strong>must notify in writing <\/strong><\/span>the Mayor\u2019s Office if their address changes or their PhD student status ends, and when the date of the public thesis defense is set.<\/p>\n<p>The <span><strong>Entitlement to support ends<\/strong><\/span>if, during the support period, the student\u2019s District VII address or PhD student status ends before the end of the state scholarship period, or the public thesis defense takes place.
